Love this family. Love all families. But it's a joy to be asked again to do this family having seen them the past couple years, doing maternity and newborn sessions and now another family session. You almost feel a part of the family - in a small way. I had to keep this session hush until after the holiday season but am joyfully going back looking through their time with me and selecting my favorites. Have a few bellies and babies soon and this was the first of a few booked between now and April. Was nice to get out of the Christmas mode for a bit and to get outside and get some fresh air. I still can't believe it's December 15th and we only have a trace of snow! We live in Canada right? From the outdoor pics you wouldn't know it was winter... Beautiful couple. Hope I captured the anticipation and excitement and love that I felt through going through some of your proofs. Almost done them all and I can't wait to hand over your disc. Christmas Mini's

Had some return clients, and some new clients, in for some mini sessions a couple weeks ago! I can't wait to post some of the sessions I've done this year that I have had to wait on for Christmas to come so I can reveal. I can think of two but I think there are more... haha :) It was great to see such energetic clients (right Julie?) and smiling faces! Thanks again for another wonderful chance to capture many giggles and grins in a short period of time. I hope you enjoyed your keepsakes from the day!

Wow Santa will be busy wipping up a bunch of goodies for this lovely bunch of kiddies for Christmas morning! Mr. B. wasn't into smiling at ALL this time around, but that's ok! I think it fits the theme of his shirt "Santa, I can explain...". :) As always, A and K were fun and modelled easily enough for me. Oh my goodness, how can you resist the cuteness of this little man! I can't believe he's already 6 months! Where does time go?! He was sitting, rolling - or trying to I should say - and just FULL of smiles and showing me his beautiful teeth! He's a joy to photograph and it's going to be hard to believe that not too many months from now will be his one year session. Sigh. I don't see them every day but when I see clients for their maternity, newborn, and milestones, I feel like they're part of a family with me and I love seeing them grow. It's a bitter sweet thing!

Celebrating 60 Years! | Anniversary

I had the opportunity last weekend to capture an amazing moment in time - what I LOVE doing! This beautiful couple was celebrating 60 years! Including letters from wonderfully important people, and a letter from the Queen as well, it was definately a day worth capturing! I got to enjoy some of the cake the husband made himself (I heard he used to run a bakery!) and just enjoyed the company. Was a wonderful day. I've been busily working on their session and hope that I captured what they hoped by hiring me for the day. I think Clint and I will only be so blessed to celebrate that magic number ourselves as we'll be 84!! Congrats, F & J!

Last year this wonderful family was given the devastating news that Em's had leukemia. It's something NO mother (or father) wants to hear. This is the first time since starting her treatments that I'd gotten to see them and although it was a rough week (steroids) for Em's, and lack of wanting to smile for the camera, resisting to mom and everyone else, there were the odd moments when Em shone through - when she showed her true self. This picture shows more than a 1000 words I believe. How Em's seeks out mom as a comforter, her love, mom's love, that despite all that her little body is fighting, in the glimpse of a few seconds (that's all this lasted) she could show mom how she really feels despite anything else going on around. Reflecting back at the session, it was busy wandering around and doing shots here and there. Mom was a little flustered that Em's wasn't cooperating. But look at this now, Shari and remember THIS moment. Grab onto those little ones whenever you can - even if they're not very often. I'm so glad that I snapped this 'random shot' because it's something that in the road ahead, I hope you can look at and realize those few little snap shots are there and she does love you and it's SO not her fighting you. This is her. <3

Well just a couple days before this session, the leaves were still hanging heavy on the trees and the colors sharp and beautiful. And then the wind came. BOO! But we still got some amazing family shots of the kids and together (dog too!) and that's all that matters! Last year at this time, dad was enduring chemo and hoping to meet his son. You've met him, we captures those newborn pictures and now here you are a few months later, strong and an example of a fighter to anyone else fighting cancer. People complain of not having a new car, or wanting a nicer home... There's a status floating around facebook saying that those with cancer have one wish.... To survive. You are a survivor. What a privilege it was to shoot this couple for their e-session. Another local photographer, I'm still feeling the nerve wracking jitters hoping that whatever I do will be good enough! The only way to describe this session is magical... There was just something so beautiful and precious about these people that made me laugh and smile the entire time! Maybe it was the location. Whatever it was, I was blessed to be a part of this family for a little while and am still knee deep in proofs! I guess that comes with 5 kids and parents with variety but there was just something so special about everything we did that made capturing those moments all the more important. I took a LOT less weddings this year, and I'm sorta missing it now over summer but I've been so busy with other sessions and now working part time that I'm thankful for saying no to some. My last wedding was the middle of June and they requested they didn't have any of their pictures posted online so you won't see previews but I have to share that it was a beautiful day and I'm thankful to have been asked. It was a beautiful day, with a beautiful couple and was a nice wrap up to my spring weddings! With no summer weddings, I have one set up for fall but otherwise in awe that I can say as a business in the past couple years I've had OVER A DOZEN weddings! That's just crazy! I'm learning more by doing and am looking forward to the ones I do next. Many blessings to you both in the years to come! Fall Family Mini Sessions!!!

It is soooooooooooooooooo too early to start thinking of it! But it's that time of year again! A time when Photographers (ie me!!!) are itching to get out and shoot in the beautiful last days of summer and the crisp autumn leaves crunching under your feet! And keeners who already know what time of the year they want their photos done have already booked months ahead of time! Well, it's no longer months ahead of time, but just a couple months! And I'm booking FAST! With working part time, I'm limiting the family sessions to strictly weekends so I can accomodate other sessions during the week.

Basic run down - $100 for 30 minutes, one location, 15 images on disc (highres) and a digital copy of Christmas card! Any family session booked in September, October AND November.

Option to print cards with envelopes directly from me if you have a session for only $1/card (4x6). If you'd like me to create a card for you (sending in your own pictures), it'll be the regular $1.50/card with envelope. As always there is the option to purchase a digital copy of the card without having a session. Please email me at jklassephotography@gmail.com for details!

***Only a couple more slots available for Grace's Place on Saturday, September 17th! One time location as it needs to be rented. Alex, I can NOT believe you're 5! I remember coming to see you while you were still in the hospital in that incubator (with cool shades then too by the way), then at your baptism while my tummy was just starting to be round and pregnant looking, and then again when you were just a wee thing starting to get to know your exersaucer while seth was on one of his first outings and his one and only projectile vomiting was caught on tape! Remember this little guy?! Hard to believe it was already a year ago already that he joined this world! And at a time when it seemed like chaos was starting to ensure upon their family and ours. Since then, my BFF (this little guy's mom) has seen her brother through cancer, health problems of her own, and more recently a move and starting back at work. She's been there for me in good and bad through, all my vents and crying episodes over the phone while our family was on our rollercoaster of our own. What happens between the newborn sessions and their one year session? LOTS! And these are great and captured by family and friends on video and camera, but wouldn't it be awesome to see these stages captured with the uniqueness only a professional can?

Introducing Milestone's Stages. Whether you just had your newborn session done and wish to capture 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and then a year, or you had your newborn sessions done and they're almost 6 months and have been contemplating this. This applies to you! ANYONE that's at a milestone in the first year of life can take advantage of this. What'll happen is the same great quality captured, just in a reduced time (30 minutes), at a bit of a reduced rate, including your images in webready format (4x6) to print and a milestone card.

At a year, there'll be the option for just a regular portrait session, or you can upgrade to the one year package (name to be announced!) which will include a smash cake, balloons and customized greeting card. Although it hasn't been finalized, I do have ideas in mind for a unique option for parents to buy or to have included in the session (not sure yet) that will include a hardcover album of all the different stages I've captured. Whether it's just their newborn and one year, or I've done every stage, I'll include that in the same beautiful hardcover gallery wrapped album I use for my wedding clients - 20 pages of beautiful images from the first year of your child's life.

Crafty? Want to do your own cake or bring your own? Absolutely fine. We can go with the regular rate and you can add on these wonderful things later. They're not finalized yet, just I've had some inquires so would like to make things available now. Onlocation or in my home, whichever works for you, we'll capture these miraculous milestones! :)

What a gorgeous wedding! The day itself started out cloudy with threatening rain but we managed to get a few shots in outside in between spells of rain (which later turned to snow and ice). This beautiful is just the reason why babies are considered MIRACLES... Dad was diagnosed with Cancer around the same time as they found out that they were expecting their first child. What a beautiful day... And what a beautiful couple. I'll be shooting their wedding at the end of April and we were supposed to meet up last weekend but due to the -46 windchill we didn't think that it would make for the greatest session. Rain and ice covered roads made us wonder if on Friday this was going to in fact happen at all! But the sun broke through, roads were cleared after an hour or so of closing and temperature rose to the plus digits! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I'm sorry of the lack of blog entries lately, I do have a couple I need to post but will have to wait upon my return to Manitoba next week. My father passed away on December 6th so everything that was planned was cancelled and rescheduled as I made my way out to Saskatoon to be with family. He was taken from us way too soon and I had planned to come up to spend time with him just a few days later so it all seems surreal still. We had a beautiful service and tried to put on a Christmas for the kids as best we could. Life is short. Treasure every moment you have with loved ones. I'm blessed with those I've come across this year and look forward to what 2011 will have to offer!

This little guy is just so proud of his new little brother and sister! As you can tell by the first picture. These two were just so perfect and precious and no complaints (for the most part) from either of them. Ironic that it seems easier to do a newborn session with multiples than just one - one needs to eat, so I take pics of the other one and just rotate. Some snuggle time together for some group ones and we're good to go! Seemed pretty smooth in my opinion! Mom and dad, I hope you enjoy the sneak peeks. What precious miracles you have... Oh my goodness these two are just so precious... I've had a few sessions with big sister A now and this is the second time around meeting her little sis, S. I can't believe she's 6 months already! My beautiful son and his $5 outfit from the MCC Thrift Store! We weren't sure if we'd even head out for Halloween (I did take him to two houses and grandpa's yet but that was it!) but we needed to have some pictures with him in it as one of his favorite little buddies is named, Eli and they looked so cute together. :) I couldn't be prouder to say he's our son - he's so cute and we're so blessed. :)

A good friend and mentor I've gotten to know well over the social networking site, FACEBOOK, I finally had a chance to meet Jennifer and her wonderful family this past month. Baby #2 on the way! And it was fun doing a last minute session with one of our friends. Only a week before her due date, she was glowing and looking wonderful. The pictures speak for themselves. Wonderful location to do a ton of different things and felt so special to be a part of this part of their lives. I even MORE so enjoyed the newborn session, which I'll soon post!

I had a chance to shoot this wonderful couples 50th Anniversary pictures a few weeks back. Although they celebrated over summer, they were wanting Christmas cards made up as well so needed a recent picture of just themselves. This wonderful woman is our son's cradle roll mom through the church and have loved getting to know her over the past couple years. Although he's now in the Sunday School program, I still keep in touch with her and enjoy her wonderful buns, soup and other yummy baking!

Another beautiful wedding and a beautiful fall day. This group of EMT's was so fun to work with and think the pictures say that for themselves. This wedding was in Winnipeg and we did a majority of the pictures at Assinaboine Park with the ceremony and reception at the Greenwood Inn. I had a great time taking and editing and viewing the pictures zillions of times since the wedding and now that I'm catching up on my blogging and finished editing all the proofs, I've posted just a handful of my fav's from the day. This beautiful family with two wonderful boys came out from Winnipeg on one of the most beautiful fall days we've had! Mom and I went to school together years ago (we won't say how long ago!) and it was so neat to meet her family! And a busy mom and dad they are! I think the boys had a blast and we got some really good pictures out of our session together. It's been awhile since I did this session, as blogging is VERY behind, but I love looking back and seeing these wonderful shots. I do realize that my blog is TERRIBLY outdated. Here we are almost in the middle of October and I have a few sessions that haven't made it online (however they are over on facebook if you're a fan there!). I've been revamping the website since end of September, have had another wedding, a few sessions and a TON of crazy family things happening. One being the passing away of a great aunt - she was roomates and an adopted great aunt to us as a family, but we've known her all her life. MY great aunt betty has had to make some transitions and I've been taking some time off to help her and concentrate on school/practicum etc.. Life's just TERRIBLY busy. So forgive me on the delays... I have a lot of updating to do I realize and will get to is as I have (hopefully) more time in the upcoming week to finish things I've started. In the meantime, have a wonderful thanksgiving, enjoy your family and friends this weekend and treasure life... Every moment is wonderful and meant to be treasured.

My great aunt, Elizabeth Hall and my son, Seth Elijah - he hates cameras, can you tell? :) It's been a couple years since I've had a picture of them together and since he won't be going into Wpg for Aunt Betty's friend, I decided I needed to get an udpated picture on a visit the other day.

What a BEAUTIFUL day for a wedding! They couldn't have asked for a better day! The sky was gorgeous, the temperature was perfect and the locations we went to were AMAZING! I love this family.. Beautiful little boy is already 6 months old.. So hard to believe! Time has flown by way too quickly!
